The huge earnings of some NHL hockey player in the world (Part 3)
In the summer of 2018, John Tavares, the leader of the New York Islanders and the club’s legend, did not renew his agreement with the team and became a free agent.
Tavares did not like the fact that the club’s leadership did not consolidate the composition. Because of this, Islanders are just NHL middle-class and don’t fight for the Stanley Cup.
Some clubs claim Tavares, including Tampa, San Jose, and Boston league leaders. But the striker has moved to Toronto. Tavares was born in the Canadian province of Ontario, has the capital of Toronto, and has been a fan of the Maple Leafs since childhood. Also, the Toronto leadership has offered Tavares one of the largest league contracts.
After signing the contract, Tavares spent the best season of his career. During the 2018/19 regular season, he scored 88 points (47 goals and 41 assists) after 82 games. But Toronto did not help- the team took off in the first round of the play-off round, losing the future Boston finals (3: 4 in the series).
